Provincetown Theater is proud to host Dael Orlandersmith, one of the most electrifying voices in American theater, for three unforgettable nights. Her acclaimed solo show, SPIRITUS, comes to Provincetown Theater fresh off critically acclaimed runs in New York and Lowell.

A Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie Award winner, Orlandersmith delivers a poetic, powerful story of transformation. In SPIRITUS, she portrays Virgil—a former Bronx DJ turned funeral guide—grappling with grief and rediscovery in a world shaped by loss and hope. Inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy, the performance is both mystical and grounded, intimate and universal.

For Provincetown and the LGBTQ+ community, her presence matters. Orlandersmith’s work speaks to identity, resilience, and chosen family—offering deep relevance in a town built on creative freedom and queer legacy.
