The Provincetown Theater is holding open auditions for non-union actors for the world premiere of Meryl Cohn’s new play The Fade-Away Advantage on June 1, 2, 3.
Director Rebecca Berger seeks three actors for this four-character contemporary play about a life-long friendship between two women, assessing the depth of their commitments to each other as they face middle-age as two single people.
Seeking Actors: Female-identifying women ages 40- 55, and male-identifying man, early 20s to mid 30s. Performers of color are strongly encouraged to audition.
Character Breakdown:
One woman (ages 40-55), cheerful, optimistic, the life of the party
One woman (ages 40-55), gregarious, endlessly helpful, toolbelt lesbian
One man (20s-30s), earnest, tall and sturdy in his beliefs (and stature)
Rehearsals for the production will begin early-September to be scheduled around actors’ availability. The Fade-Away Advantage performs at the Provincetown Theater Oct 3 – October 20. Each actor will receive an honorarium of $500 for their participation in the production.
