Our Vision

The Provincetown Theater aspires to create and incubate memorable and meaningful theater experiences, programs, and special events celebrating our historic legacy in the birthplace of American theater. We strive to cultivate connection and empower a multiplicity of thought.

Core Operating Values

The Provincetown Theater believes in creating, developing, and sustaining impactful, evocative, and authentic theater experiences honoring the rich plethora of American voices.

We believe that creating theater builds community.

We believe that community collaboration and partnerships are hallmarks of our programming both on-stage and off-stage.

We believe in a strong and safe institution where all individuals are treated with respect and allowed to work in a safe and supportive environment.

We believe our Theater requires continual fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, internal accountability, and innovative thinking among Board, staff, and artists to provide a strong institution and a foundation for growth.

We believe our success requires diversity of individuals and thought. The Provincetown Theater is committed pursuing and maintaining greater diversity–– including race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, national origin, and life experience. We recognize we have a long way to go to make that happen, but we promise to make it a daily priority.
