The Provincetown Theater’s resident 20-somethings, Eden Allegretti (Marketing and Communication Associate) and Peter Toto (Artistic and Production Associate), are excited to announce The B Plot Reading Series: a free reading series showcasing up-and-coming playwrights that center the experiences of young people. The series is co-sponsored by and presented at The Commons.
The B Plot Reading Series is designed to complement the Provincetown Theater’s mainstage season. “As the birthplace of modern American Theater, we wanted to create a space for the works of the next generation of American playwrights to be seen and heard,” says Peter. This reading series is free and open to all.
Mission:
The B Plot’s mission is to platform pieces that represent the next generation of queer people in their own voice, cultivate conversations about the issues young people are facing and make theater accessible to all in Provincetown by providing free, high-quality theater.
Where: Main Room at The Commons: 46 Bradford St, Provincetown, MA 02657
When: Wednesday, October 11th @ 7pm - Mediocre Hetereosexual Sex by Madison Wetzell
Four hours after her girlfriend dumps her, Erin switches her Tinder setting to men. She quickly meets Aaron, who is straight, conveniently nearby, and treats women with respect (unfortunately for Erin). To translate this deeply ambivalent first hetero experience, Erin seeks the advice of the only straight people she knows, a couple in a Dominant/submissive relationship. A vexed and side-splitting exploration of gender, power, and desire.
